Life Goes On Despite Disappointment

One of the most disappointing things is when someone you care about time and again just simply jumps back into the fire that they just got themselves out of. It really makes you wonder about them and about their emotional state of mind. Twice I have found myself put on the back burner by friends all because they always go back to troublesome people that they simply cannot live without.

I have to wonder with all the positive energy and encouragement that they have given to me, that do they ever take it themselves. Yes, it is disappointing because you know what is coming…

It's either going to be the end of your friendship or they will once again come to you for comfort because they got burned again by that same troublesome person. Quite frankly and sad to say, I am used to being treated in such a way. Being treated as the safety net for when things fall down. But with being treated in such a way, I have developed a “Whatever, Do As You Want” attitude. I'll be around when the chips go down, but I'll be looking to move on because like all safety nets, they eventually wear out.

I cannot bring myself to hate such a person, because no one is perfect, including myself. But when someone constantly returns to trouble, putting themselves back into the fire. There comes a time when you just simply say…. “Well, it's their life. Nothing you can do, just go on with your life”.

And it is in that moment is where you open your heart to something better. And when it comes, you embrace with your full being and leave behind the disappointment.

So, when you find yourself disappointed in someone or something. Just remember that life goes on and there are always new things opening up for you.
